STEM FOCUS

At Sherman, STEM education is a vital part of inspiring learners and future innovators. We use math and reading as foundational tools to open doors to the exciting worlds of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through hands-on STEM activities and real-world problem solving, students build critical thinking skills while exploring standards-based content.

Our vision is to affirm and inspire every student to learn and thrive as creators of their future world.

"I love watching students discover new things about the world around them. It is amazing to see them ask questions, solve problems together, and realize that they can be inventors, builders, and thinkers." — Ms. Cook, First Grade Teacher

STEM SHOWCASES & MAKERSPACE

Sherman hosts two school-wide Showcase Nights each year, where families are invited to explore student learning and STEM projects connected to grade-level science standards.

In addition to classroom learning, students have access to our STEM lab, known as Makerspace. This space is equipped with 3D printers, robotics kits, and a variety of engineering tools. On a rotating schedule, students participate in hands-on STEM experiences that encourage creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving as they explore science, technology, engineering, and math in meaningful ways.
